This is it. The final episode of the Disembodied Voices Game of the Year Award Thing 2012. You can soon let out that breath you’ve been holding since early January, but not before two more hours of riveting entertainment that just might send chills down your spine. All the awards that couldn’t find a home among previous categories congregate in the Other segment as one, big party before stepping aside for the second phase: Game of the Year itself. This intense discussion quickly begins to resemble the interrogation scene from The Dark Knight as two games in particular are grilled under the spotlight of destiny. Which game will take away this grand honor? Don’t scroll down to not find out!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your best of 2012 features. Lots of good games discussed (which I’ll hopefully play during the next year or so), lots of laughs, and lots of good old fashioned arguing. What’s not to like about that?!
You posed the question of what my favourite game of 2012 was, but I don’t really feel I can give a good answer to that since I’ve played pretty much none of the the big games of the year. I have, however, played a few XBLA titles, some Steam releases, and a bunch of XBox Live Indie Games, so I think I’ll just mention a few of the ones I felt stood out. On XBLA, Fez and Trials Evolution were both excellent (despite some of Fez’s glitches), and I would probably add The Walking Dead to them if I’d finished playing it. On Steam, I loved Thirty Flights Of Loving and Noitu Love 2: Devolution (twas the year of love on Steam). And on XBLIG, my favourites have been Bleed (arcade action platformer), Gateways (puzzle platformer from the developers behind Shuggy), and City Tuesday (no idea what genre to put that one in).
Fez and Trials Evolution are both games I want to try out, but they scare me away for very different reasons. When I feel that my store of patience is at its peak, maybe I’ll jump in.
Anyway, thanks for answering my question; curiosity satisfied, I can move on in life. I’m glad you stuck around until the end of our month-long award ceremony, but we’ll be getting back to our ordinarily scheduled format on Tuesday– OR WILL WE? (That’s a teaser.)
Also, Noitu Love 2! Yeah!
